Job Description

Overview

The Athletic Trainer position at Lee Health involves working within the Lee County School District to support local student-athletes and schools through a comprehensive injury prevention and treatment program. This role emphasizes collaboration with medical professionals, coaches, and school officials to ensure athlete safety and performance while providing exceptional patient care in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with school Activities/Athletic Directors to develop injury prevention and treatment programs
  • Establish schedules for first responders to ensure athletic event coverage
  • Coordinate sports physicals for student-athletes
  • Maintain communication with coaches, administrators, physicians, parents, and students regarding injuries and rehabilitation
  • Conduct timely injury reporting and insurance documentation
  • Participate in athletic testing and performance initiatives in partnership with Lee Health Rehabilitation Services

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletics or related field
  • Experience with industry-standard computer applications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid Florida Athletic Trainers License
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and with diverse groups
