Overview

Schouest, Bamdas, Soshea & BenMaier PLLC is seeking an Associate Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. This role focuses on assisting with Defense Base Act claims through legal analysis, client communication, and document review, while providing a supportive environment for newly graduated lawyers.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with docket involving Defense Base Act claims
  • Provide sound legal analysis and draft petitions
  • Communicate with clients, Department of Labor, and opposing counsel
  • Review, analyze, and summarize claims documents including medical records and incident reports
  • Participate in conferences with the Department of Labor
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clients regarding Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act
