Overview

Farmers Kitchen LLC is seeking an Agronomist based in Waterford, Pennsylvania, to support the growth of their organic potato production and assist a network of contract growers. The role involves both conventional and organic farming practices, focusing on crop planning, data management, and farm operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Create crop planning documents each season
  • Act as point of contact for contract growers regarding logistics and agronomic support
  • Develop weekly agronomic field plans during the growing season
  • Create all work orders for field operations
  • Keep records and manage data of all field activities
  • Perform crop scouting for fertility, pests, insects, and diseases
  • Manage organic and regenerative certification
  • Conduct assessments for various crop stages
  • Implement potato seed cutting sampling and adjustments
  • Conduct soil sampling and provide fertility recommendations
  • Map fields and boundaries using GPS
  • Create work orders for fertilizer and spray applications
  • Manage trial and plot research projects
  • Oversee petiole and tissue sampling programs
  • Assist with daily operations of a commercial farm

Required skills

  • Knowledge of agronomy and crop management
  • Organic farming experience
  • Experience with specialty crops
  • Large scale farm experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Valid Driver's License
