Overview

Whitworth University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to engage prospective students and families throughout the recruitment process. This role is crucial for advancing the university's recruitment and retention efforts and offers opportunities for professional development and promotion within the admissions team.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent Whitworth at recruitment functions and maintain historical records.
  • Promote and participate in on-campus visit programs for prospective students.
  • Engage prospective students through various communication methods.
  • Review and evaluate undergraduate admissions applications.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of enrollment strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of university programs and policies.

Required skills

  • Experience working with high school students and parents
  • Excellent public speaking and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with CRM or relational database programs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred
  • Availability for travel and evening/weekend work
