Job Description

Overview

ReGeneration Schools is looking for a dedicated full-time Special Education Teacher for K-8 grades to join their Cincinnati campuses for the upcoming school year. The teacher will be responsible for providing academic, emotional, and physical support to students requiring additional assistance, ensuring they thrive within the school's core academic program while adhering to their Individualized Education Plans (IEP).

Key responsibilities

  • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
  • Set achievable goals for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Develop draft IEPs prior to IEP meetings
  • Provide support to paraprofessionals assigned to special education students
  • Design and use assessments to measure student progress
  • Collaborate with the school team to address instructional and social needs of students
  • Work with the RTI team to suggest accommodations or interventions
  • Model and encourage appropriate student behavior
  • Maintain a disciplined and rigorous classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Required skills

  • Special Education Teacher Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • 1-5 years of teaching experience
  • Content knowledge in academic subjects and behavioral interventions
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and creativity
  • Flexibility to changing priorities and conditions
