Job Description

Overview

MinistryHub is seeking a full-time Youth Pastor/Director for First Christian Church in Geary, Oklahoma. The role focuses on leading youth and children's ministry, developing Christ-centered relationships, and supporting community outreach while reporting to the Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop strong Christ-centered relationships with youth (grades 6-12) and their families
  • Plan, organize, and lead youth activities including weekly group meetings, Bible studies, and community outreach programs
  • Support extracurricular activities and provide pastoral care for youth
  • Plan and distribute lessons and curriculum for youth and assist in recruiting Sunday School teachers
  • Interact with Children's Ministry to facilitate smooth transition from children to youth ministry
  • Preach occasionally when the Senior Pastor is unavailable
  • Assist in outreach and pastoral care to visitors, members, and the community
  • Promote participation in activities using various media
  • Recruit and develop an Adult Leadership Team for Family Ministries

Required skills

  • Strong faith and commitment to Christian values
  • Bachelor's degree in theology or related field (preferred)
  • Experience with youth and good judgment in interacting with diverse groups
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging learning experiences for youth
  • Experience working with children and a growing understanding of adolescent challenges
  • Strong organization, supervision, management, and leadership skills
