Overview

MinistryHub is partnering with First Church Jonesboro to find a Youth Pastor who can lead a dynamic youth ministry focused on discipleship and community engagement. This role involves fostering a relational culture among students, empowering a team of volunteers, and contributing to a church that prioritizes the spiritual growth of the next generation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead weekly youth services and small group discipleship gatherings
  • Preach engaging, Christ-centered messages
  • Develop a small group culture for spiritual growth
  • Provide pastoral care and counseling to students and families
  • Mentor students towards lifelong faith and leadership
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of adult volunteers
  • Plan and lead special events, retreats, and outreach opportunities
  • Coordinate youth participation in churchwide events
  • Build partnerships with local schools for outreach

Required skills

  • Experience in teaching and leading a youth group of 50+ students
  • Strong communication skills
  • Biblically faithful and Spirit-sensitive teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a ministry team
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Theology or MDiv preferred
  • Relatable preacher with a sense of humor
