Overview

Patton Myhre Sourcing, LP is seeking a skilled Welder with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically with valves. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, fitting, and welding pipeline products with precision, while adhering to safety standards and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
  • Align components using measuring tools and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a safe condition

Required skills

  • Proven experience as a welder
  • Experience with various welding equipment and procedures (GMAW, GTAW, SAW, TIG, MIG, SUB-ARC)
  • Ability to use electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, rulers)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of safety standards and use of protective clothing
  • Attention to detail and deftness
  • Proficient in English
  • Professional certification (e.g., AWS welding certificate) is a plus
