Overview

Key responsibilities

  • Set up welding machines based on job specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • MIG weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components
  • Inspect equipment for proper function
  • Maintain Welding Procedure Specifications
  • Operate machinery in the production process
  • Assemble items as instructed
  • Complete housekeeping duties in the work area
  • Follow all company rules and policies
  • Prepare products for shipment
  • Lift raw materials and products, up to 70 pounds
  • Uphold safety rules, OSHA standards, and quality standards

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years experience in welding and fabrication using MIG or TIG
  • Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and angle gauges
  • Ability to read production assembly drawings and welding symbols
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication of piping and structural steel assemblies
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry materials up to 70 pounds
