Overview

The Water/Wastewater Consultant at Communities Unlimited, Inc. is responsible for providing onsite technical assistance and training to rural community infrastructure systems facing water or waste disposal challenges. The role involves project planning, financing, and utility management, serving rural communities primarily in the Poteau, OK area with a remote work option.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical assistance to 15-20 rural communities and small water/wastewater systems
  • Develop and submit reports, project documentation, and technical analyses
  • Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant/contract requirements
  • Manage multiple priorities and contribute to communications efforts

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, management, public administration or related field preferr
  • Current Water or Wastewater Operator Certification with 5 years of experience in community environmental management syst
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats
  • Project management and self-directed time management
  • Understanding of basic financial statements and project budgeting
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
