Job Description

Overview

The Utilization Management Clerk at VitalCore Health Strategies is responsible for the maintenance and organization of health records in a correctional healthcare setting. This full-time position requires attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to quality service, working onsite Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain health records and ensure compliance with health policies and confidentiality standards
  • Organize and file medical charts for all healthcare staff and clinics
  • Secure active and inactive medical records
  • Ensure completeness of charts and counter-signatures by physicians
  • Release information as directed by medical staff
  • Answer telephone calls and manage messages
  • Type letters, reports, and memorandums
  • Maintain appointment bookings for on and off-site appointments
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • One year experience in emergency or correctional service
  • Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology
  • CMA or CMAA certificate required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in file management and data entry
