Overview

AAA Club Alliance is seeking Full Time Roadside Assistance Tow Truck Drivers to join their team in Columbus, OH. The role involves providing crucial roadside assistance to members in various weather conditions, such as changing flat tires and jumpstarting car batteries. Ideal candidates will have a passion for helping others and the physical capability to perform demanding tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide tow and recovery services following established guidelines and quality control procedures
  • Perform lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump starts, and tire change services
  • Communicate effectively with members to ensure their safety and keep them informed
  • Make sound decisions regarding vehicle service and member accommodations
  • Accurately enter call information and process payments using in-truck technology
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to maintain safe operating conditions
  • Ensure all equipment is secured when not in use
  • Participate in special events to promote AAA
  • Complete required training courses within 60 days of hire

Required skills

  • Valid driver's license and maintain state/local licensing requirements
  • Ability to pass a physical examination
  • 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment or customer service
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 pounds and utilize hand tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience operating passenger vehicles and light-medium duty trucks
  • Familiarity with GPS and other technology
