Job Description

Overview

The Tool Crib Attendant will assist in the production process within the machining department at Anderson Dahlen, located in Anoka, Minnesota. This role focuses on inventory management, tooling setup, and maintaining a clean and organized tool room to support machinists and ensure proper operation of machining equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the production process in the machining department.
  • Inventory and stock the tool crib.
  • Break down and set up tooling for machining centers.
  • Create and maintain tooling lists for machine programs.
  • Set up necessary tooling for machinists prior to operations.
  • Tear down, inspect, and place used tooling appropriately.
  • Perform inventory checks on replenishable tooling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized tool room following 5S practices.
  • Implement and maintain 5S projects in the tool room.
  • Work with programmers and supervisors to troubleshoot tooling issues.
  • Test potential tooling upgrades and new technology.
  • Observe safe work practices.

Required skills

  • High school education or equivalent; technical degree in machining preferred.
  • 1-2 years of prior experience in a machine shop tool room.
  • Good working knowledge of CNC machining and tooling.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
