Works help lead residents of the Southeastern Veterans Center to their highest level of physical, cognitive, and social abilities. As a Therapeutic Activities Aide, you will perform the following duties: Activity Support: Plan, organize, and lead recreational and educational activities and outings such as parties, dances, shopping, crafts, games, picnics, music, and moreResident Guidance: Assist individuals and groups during activities to help residents socialize, build relationships, and enjoy themselvesSafety Oversight: Maintain safe conditions, perform minor housekeeping duties, observe resident behavior, and report concerns or incidents to supervisorsTransportation: Drive and escort residents to and from program outings, help residents transfer to and from wheelchairs and bus seatsSupplies Management: Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment, prepare items needed for activities, and imitate purchase requests when neededTeam Participation: Attend trainings and meetings to support quality assurance, performance improvement, and facility goals Interested in learning more? REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements:You must possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
