Job Description

Overview

The Temporary Distribution Material Handler at ACO, Inc. in Mentor, Ohio is responsible for pulling, packaging, and loading materials for customer orders. This role requires operating machinery, maintaining inventory, and preparing shipments while ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Pick material for orders using hand, forklift, or pallet jack
  • Arrange materials on pallets and deliver to the packaging area
  • Strap, stretch wrap, bubble wrap, or box shipments as directed
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock
  • Prepare shipping labels and attach them to packages
  • Load trucks and complete appropriate documentation
  • Maintain clean warehouse and yard areas
  • Complete daily maintenance checklist for forklift
  • Serve as back-up for the Receiving Department

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training
  • Certified Forklift Operator
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to perform tasks involving concrete variables
