Tax Manager - North Raleigh Wake ForestAbout the RoleOur growing CPA firm is seeking experienced tax professionals for our North Raleigh and Wake Forest offices to prepare, review, and manage relationships with a diverse portfolio of individual and business income tax clients while leading the development and execution of proactive tax strategies for our small business prospects and clients.This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to combine technical depth with real client relationships and work with a collaborative team - not just process returns in isolation. Apply today!Compensation:$100,000 +Responsibilities:Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, S-corps, partnerships, and other small business entitiesDevelop and implement tax planning strategies, including entity selection and optimization, tailored to each client's situationServe as a primary point of contact for a group of clients, maintaining regular communication throughout the year, not just during tax seasonResearch complex tax issues and stay current on new tax mattersReview work prepared by junior staff, provide feedback, and mentor team membersCollaborate with the firm's accounting, bookkeeping, and advisory teams to deliver a seamless client experienceRespond to IRS and state notices, audits, and correspondence on clients' behalfSet up periodic meetings to collaborate with clients on what's happening and the status of strategy implementationMeet with prospects to evaluate needs, go over financial records and tax returns, and develop an implementation plan for the new clientQualifications:Experience handling both basic and advanced levels of tax service, and has in-depth knowledge of the tax code, state tax laws, and federal tax laws Licensed CPA - non-Big 4 experience preferredCapable of preparing error-free, moderately complex tax returnsExperience with QuickBooks and cloud-based tax/accounting softwareExperience with CCH Axcess Tax is a plusComfortable in a hybrid work environment with regular in-office collaborationWe value humility over ego - leave your hubris at the door; it's one of our core values hereAbout CompanyWhy You'll Love Working Here:Stability without the stagnation.
