Overview

The Tax Director at Gerson, Preston, Klein, Lips, Eisenberg, Gelber is a results-driven professional responsible for leading complex tax engagements within a public accounting environment. The role involves managing corporate, partnership, and individual tax matters for diverse clients, ensuring compliance and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
  • Oversee tax adjustments to financial statements for return preparation
  • Manage engagements, resources, and client expectations effectively
  • Handle the complete client engagement and relationship
  • Establish engagement project budgets and due dates
  • Complete engagements on time, on budget, with high quality
  • Perform firm administrative functions and projects as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • CPA License or eligibility to take CPA exam
  • Experience using tax preparation software and applications
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, entrepreneurial atmosphere
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Motivated to meet client deadlines and provide superior client service
  • Strong relationship-building skills
