Job Description

Overview

KanPak LLC is seeking a passionate and results-driven Sustainability Specialist to implement site-level sustainability initiatives aligned with the company's 2030 environmental goals. This role will focus on improving environmental performance, operational efficiency, and engagement within the manufacturing environment while collaborating with various teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability initiatives and progress towards GSF's 2030 goals
  • Collaborate with the GSF Corporate Sustainability Team on system-wide initiatives
  • Design and implement programs to reduce energy consumption, water usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste generation
  • Analyze facility operations for sustainability improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate problem-solving and root-cause analysis
  • Manage integration issues across sustainability projects
  • Develop and implement an Environmental Management System using ISO 14001 guidelines
  • Investigate renewable energy opportunities in collaboration with Procurement
  • Engage with external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives
  • Create training programs to educate associates on sustainability
  • Establish systems to monitor and report on sustainability metrics
  • Prepare and present progress reports to leadership

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations and/or environmental sustainability
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 preferred)
  • Familiarity with Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas accounting
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative leadership experience
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform related tasks
