Overview

Mountainside Medical Center is looking for a skilled Physician Assistant to join their General Surgery Team in Montclair, NJ. This role involves providing comprehensive pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care under the supervision of the attending surgeon, utilizing advanced hospital technologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Round and monitor patients pre and post-operatively
  • Notify surgeon of significant changes in patient condition
  • Participate in the evaluation and surgical care of oncology and gynecological oncology patients
  • Handle patient education and discharge summaries
  • Provide quality patient care in inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings
  • Exhibit autonomy in the operating room and inpatient settings

Required skills

  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active New Jersey State Physician Assistant license
  • Active Controlled Dangerous Substance license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • 5 years of Physician Assistant experience in a surgical setting
