Overview

Med Ninjas is seeking a full-time General Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join their team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role involves providing perioperative care for adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients in a hospital setting, with responsibilities across operating rooms, ICUs, and clinics.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative cardiothoracic surgical care
  • First assist in cardiac surgeries
  • Perform endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Manage ICU/CVICU and post-surgical patients
  • Conduct rounding and patient evaluations
  • Participate in clinic days weekly
  • Rotate through OR coverage Monday to Friday
  • Order and interpret labs/diagnostics
  • Develop care plans and prescribe medications
  • Perform bedside procedures
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary cardiac surgery team

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • NCCPA (PA-C) certification
  • 3+ years cardiac/cardiovascular surgery experience
  • ICU management experience
  • Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting
  • First assisting in cardiothoracic surgery
  • Active Colorado license
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
  • Full prescriptive authority
