Job Description

Overview

The Supplier Quality Engineer at ACE Thermal Systems is responsible for managing the quality of the global supply base, ensuring suppliers meet quality, compliance, and performance requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier efficiency in aerospace and defense applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage supplier quality performance from qualification through production.
  • Lead supplier selection and qualification activities, including audits and risk evaluations.
  • Drive supplier readiness for production with First Article Inspection (FAI) and process validation.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier performance.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of supplier-related nonconformances.
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier issues.
  • Evaluate and improve supplier process controls and identify risks.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a supplier quality engineer role, preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) preferred.
  • Strong experience in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, and FAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with APQP, FAI, FMEA, SPC, and control plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality software tools.
  • Strong technical communication skills and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
