Overview You will oversee cloud migration and operations for a growing federal cloud team, aligning cloud efforts with the agency's mission. You provide strategic direction to a 14-person team, shaping the DOT cloud infrastructure and roadmap. You partner with stakeholders and vendors to design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions that meet mission needs. You will mentor engineers, communicate progress to senior leadership, and drive cross-team collaboration to optimize the agency cloud offering. ResponsibilitiesDirect and prioritize fog cloud migration, O&M, and strategic initiatives for the enterprise.Lead strategy, design, implementation, and maintenance of the DOT cloud infrastructure.Gather requirements from stakeholders and define project scope for cloud initiatives.Develop and implement cloud solutions aligned with the DOT mission and uptime targets.Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure performance of cloud environments.Mentor and develop cloud engineers to meet organizational needs.Communicate status to agency senior leadership and collaborate with other infrastructure teams.Work with vendors to determine approaches and select the best-fit solutions for the agency.Translate business needs to technical requirements and facilitate final solution architectures. Key requirements15 years of IT experience in architecting and implementing solutions across deployments and enterprise tools.Strong understanding of compute, network, storage in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).Experience with multi-tier architectures (web, application, database) in the cloud.Deep knowledge of cloud engineering practices for sustaining an enterprise cloud.Proficiency in security best practices for cloud workloads (IAM, monitoring, config management).Understanding of DevSecOps pipelines and enterprise shared services.Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and opportunity assessment.Ability to prioritize and balance ad-hoc tasks with planned initiatives.Experience in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps.leadershipstakeholder communicationmentorshipAWSAzurecloud architecture
