Overview

The Structural Mechanic IV at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for performing various structural assembly operations in a team-oriented environment. This role involves the installation and repair of aircraft components while ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures
  • Use complicated schematics and blueprints to layout and fabricate parts
  • Coordinate with supervision and inspection for compliance with paperwork and quality specifications
  • Mentor and assist team members in interpreting blueprints and engineering orders
  • Maintain and use logs and records for work processes
  • Plan and organize workloads to meet schedule expectations
  • Support Lean Activities and adhere to safety and housekeeping protocols

Required skills

  • Advanced sheet metal repair including riveting and drilling
  • Structural fabrication using blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Installation and repair of aircraft skins, frames, and bulkheads
  • Proficient with pneumatic and hydraulic tools
  • Good working knowledge of computer software
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Mathematical proficiency for solving dimensional problems
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in small or restricted areas
