Overview

The Structural Mechanic II position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Brunswick, Georgia involves performing a variety of structural assembly operations in a production environment. The role requires adherence to established operating procedures while ensuring quality and safety standards are met for aircraft assembly tasks.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations
  • Conduct sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of aircraft parts and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and operation sheets to follow assembly requirements
  • Ensure all work is defect-free and meets quality standards prior to final inspection
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and comply with safety regulations
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support Lean initiatives
  • Use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment properly
  • Assist in maintaining shop equipment and complete necessary documentation

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years related structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic computer skills and shop math skills
  • Hands-on craftwork skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in restricted areas
  • English language proficiency
