Overview

As a Structural Mechanic 3 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, you will play a vital role in the structural assembly of aircraft components. Working in a team-oriented environment, you will perform various assembly operations with minimal supervision, ensuring that all work meets the required specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, ensuring requirements are met
  • Carry out sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation of aircraft parts and equipment
  • Rivet structural members and assemblies using all required tools
  • Read blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine sequence of operations
  • Check all work for defects prior to final inspection
  • Instruct and assist other team members with blueprints and engineering orders
  • Maintain logs and records related to the work performed
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a neat work area
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment

Required skills

  • 4 years structural assembly experience
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Q-stamp preferred
  • Blueprint reading
  • Rivet operations
  • Sheet metal fabrication

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
