Job Description

Overview

As a Structural Mechanic 3 at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, you will be integral to aircraft assembly processes, performing various structural assembly operations with minimal supervision. The role requires a strong focus on quality and safety in tasks such as drilling, riveting, and sheet metal fabrication, while working closely within a team-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Conduct sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation on aircraft.
  • Rivet structural members and parts using appropriate tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine operational sequences.
  • Check all work for defects before final inspection.
  • Instruct and assist team members in interpreting engineering documents.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required skills

  • Structural assembly experience
  • Experience working on Aircrafts
  • Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication
  • Knowledge of drilling and riveting operations
  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials
  • Basic computer and shop math skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in small spaces
