Overview

As a Sr. Distinguished Applied Researcher at Capital One, you will be instrumental in developing trustworthy AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to build AI-powered products and requires a passion for innovative and impactful research in AI and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered platforms and solutions.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Engage in high-impact applied research to advance customer experiences.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface.
  • Translate complex work into tangible business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields plus 6 years o
  • Experience with AI foundation models and large deep learning models.
  • Hands-on experience in development using open-source tools and cloud computing.
  • Knowledge of training optimization, self-supervised learning, explainability, and robustness.
  • Track record of delivering models at scale.
