Overview

As a Sr. Distinguished AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be instrumental in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance banking experiences. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that benefit customers and internal stakeholders alike, contributing to the company's position as a leader in AI and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with a team of engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and inference.
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies to build scalable systems.
  • Introduce LLM optimization techniques to improve AI system performance.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms.
  • Programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
