Job Description

Overview

The Senior Business Development (BD) Coordinator at Reed Smith LLP will support the business development initiatives for the Energy and Natural Resources group. This role requires collaboration with various practice groups and a focus on enhancing the firm's profile and strengthening client relationships, as well as creating collaborative opportunities across teams globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Support and implement business development strategies for the ENR group
  • Liaise with group leaders and attorneys on BD activities
  • Assist in developing agendas and presentations for strategy meetings
  • Coordinate pitch materials, presentations, and responses to RFPs
  • Ensure follow-up from clients post-pitch and assess feedback for improvement
  • Manage and contribute to business development systems including CRM
  • Draft and edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions
  • Prepare submissions for awards and legal directories
  • Maintain consistent messaging across marketing channels
  • Collaborate with communications staff to identify PR opportunities
  • Support brand positioning efforts through various events
  • Travel for meetings and training as required

Required skills

  • College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
  • 4-7 years' experience in marketing, including business development
  • Experience in law firm or professional services environment preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn new database systems quickly
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work situations
