Overview

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Senior AR/Billing Specialist to join their growing finance team in Roanoke, Virginia. This role primarily involves managing audit and research functions for billing and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and compliance in invoicing processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for complex AR and billing inquiries.
  • Assist with collection of overdue invoices and resolving outstanding issues.
  • Audit billing practices to ensure efficient and effective processes.
  • Research and resolve billing issues in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Ensure compliance with client contracts and billing requirements.
  • Support monthly Work-in-Process reporting and billing data confirmation.
  • Serve as backup to Billing Administrator Lead role.
  • Assist in creating billing templates and storm billing oversight.
  • Monitor overdue invoices and assist in bad debt evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate billing and financial records.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; accounting or business education preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in accounts receivable or construction billing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to excellent customer service.
