Job Description

Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Cottesmore of Life Care in Gig Harbor, Washington, is responsible for providing direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians. This full-time role operates within a supportive, patient-centered environment, catering to a diverse patient population that requires ongoing skilled support and rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients
  • Establish, assess, and modify functional goals for patients
  • Oversee and evaluate care given by SLP Clinical Fellowship Year trainees
  • Implement and interpret programs, goals, and procedures of the department
  • Maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors
  • Liaison with patients and families to plan for patient needs
  • Utilize therapy software accurately and appropriately
  • Chart patient progress in a timely manner
  • Participate in community health matters/projects

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (MS or MA SLP)
  • ASHA certified (CCC) or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
  • One year of experience preferred; new grads welcome
  • CPR certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledgeable of relevant laws and regulations in post-acute care
