Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is a consulting role for the 2025-26 school year, located in Anchorage, Alaska. The selected candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide essential speech and language services to students, making a significant impact on their communication skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' speech and language disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services according to individual treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication skills.
  • Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment plans to ensure students meet their speech and language goals.
  • Consult and train school staff and parents on strategies to support communication skills.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and future needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of students' progress and services provided.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Current and valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a school setting
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
