Job Description

Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia, Illinois is responsible for evaluating and treating individuals with speech, language, cognitive, and communicative disorders. The role involves working with patients in outpatient settings, including pediatrics and adults, and requires a commitment to a supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard techniques appropriate for patient conditions
  • Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans
  • Maintain clinical records and follow performance improvement recommendations
  • Plan and assist with patient discharge from speech therapy services
  • Provide information regarding appropriate support programs
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois or relevant states
