Overview

Signature Science, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Spectroscopist to lead advanced spectroscopic analysis and quality control operations in support of internal research and development initiatives. This role demands deep expertise in infrared and Raman spectroscopy techniques, focusing on materials characterization and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory spectroscopy systems including infrared and Raman spectrometers
  • Develop and implement calibration protocols and quality assurance procedures for spectroscopic measurements
  • Perform comprehensive infrared and Raman quality control measurements of materials
  • Analyze complex spectral data to identify material properties and potential quality issues
  • Generate detailed quality control reports with findings and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data collection
  • Train team members on proper spectroscopic techniques and procedures
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Required skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of spectroscopic theory and measurement techniques
  • Proven experience in materials characterization and quality control applications
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, R, or similar platforms
  • Experience with statistical analysis methods including regression analysis and error quantification
  • Bachelor's degree in a science field or higher with relevant experience
