Overview

The Sonographer at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to examine tissue and body structures, providing quality images for interpretation. This PRN position has flexible scheduling and requires completion of a Sonography program along with multiple ARDMS or CCI registries.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves
  • Set up and adjust ultrasound equipment for exams
  • Implement safety standards and quality control procedures
  • Perform routine and complex studies, assisting in imaging procedures
  • Ensure equipment functionality and report malfunctions
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department
  • Comply with regulatory agencies

Required skills

  • Completion of a Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
  • Specialties in Abdomen (AB), OB/GYN, Breast, Echo, or Vascular
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification
  • Patient care and safety standards knowledge
  • Quality control procedures knowledge
