Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Small Tools Mechanic to perform service and maintenance on various small gas, diesel, and electric powered hand tools. The role requires strong technical abilities and customer service skills, focusing on safety and compliance while maintaining tools and equipment effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Keep records of hour meter readings for power equipment
  • Complete and record all scheduled servicing
  • Maintain all tools in good working order
  • Report visual inspection issues to small tools superintendent
  • Notify supervisor of complications affecting equipment operability
  • Overhaul small gas and diesel engines
  • Maintain cleanliness of work site and tools
  • Report all oil spills to supervisor
  • Train on use and maintenance of new tools
  • Complete other assigned duties as required

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training
  • Valid driver's license
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to use mechanics hand and power tools
  • Ability to meet physical requirements
  • OSHA, MSHA, or relevant safety certifications preferred
  • Experience in heavy civil construction or road construction preferred
