Overview

The Site Work Crew Leader / Foreman at Cornerstone Tree Farm in Venice, Florida, is responsible for leading a small crew in hands-on site management work, including erosion control and installation of site protection. This role requires a well-rounded individual who can operate heavy equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards on construction sites as part of a growing, established company with consistent workloads.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a small crew while performing physical labor and assigning tasks.
  • Install and maintain erosion control and BMPs on construction sites.
  • Safely operate a Ditch Witch SK900 mini skid steer/trencher and related machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida stormwater (NPDES) requirements.
  • Communicate with site superintendents and document work accurately.
  • Model and enforce safety standards and protocols.

Required skills

  • Experience in construction, site management, or civil/site contracting
  • Heavy equipment operation skills, particularly with mini skid steers
  • Ability to read site and grading plans
  • Proven leadership and crew management abilities
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to perform demanding, labor-intensive work outdoors
