Job Description

Overview

The Senior Tooling Technician at Faith Technologies is responsible for machining, fabricating, and maintaining custom tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in production. This role serves as the technical expert in machining and fabrication processes, while also providing backup support for maintenance activities to ensure efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to evaluate tooling needs and identify improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of fabrication work, repairs, materials used, and project timelines.
  • Assist in training junior technicians in machining or fabrication skills.
  • Complete special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Uphold company safety standards and participate actively in safety programs.
  • Machine custom tooling, jigs, and fixtures using various equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication using MIG/TIG/stick processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T symbols and tolerances.
  • Develop and refine tooling solutions to improve production efficiency.
  • Inspect tools for wear, damage, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Support new product launches by preparing and validating required tooling.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical diploma in machining or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in machining, fabrication, or tool fixture building.
  • Machining proficiency with manual mills and lathes; CNC experience preferred.
  • Ability to design from concept using hand sketches or simple CAD.
  • Experience in general industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices.
