Job Description: Our client, a well-established firm in the public accounting industry, is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its tax practice. This position is ideal for an experienced tax professional with a strong foundation in federal and multi-state taxation who enjoys working with a diverse client base and handling complex tax matters. The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax filings, analyzing financial information, supporting client engagements, and conducting tax research. The role will also involve assisting with bookkeeping-related activities and responding to tax-related questions from clients and regulatory agencies. Hybrid 3 days/week in Fairfield, NJ Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and multi-state tax returns for a variety of clients. Analyze financial information and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and complete tax filings. Assist with the preparation, organization, and review of client financial records. Support tax-related audits and examinations, including gathering documentation and responding to information requests. Research tax issues and provide support in applying current federal and state tax regulations. Monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. Communicate with clients and internal team members regarding tax-related questions and documentation needs. Assist with bookkeeping and other accounting-related activities as needed. Maintain accurate and organized workpapers and supporting documentation. Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred but not required. 3+ years of professional tax preparation experience. Experience working with federal and multi-state tax matters. CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification is a plus. Familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping platforms; QuickBooks experience is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
