Overview

The Senior NDT Technician for Repair Station at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring aircraft parts and assemblies meet quality standards after production. Working primarily at the Savannah Service Center, the technician performs various non-destructive tests and is responsible for maintaining test equipment and compliance with safety regulations. Successful candidates will have the flexibility to work different shifts based on business needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) and determine product acceptability.
  • Record, organize, and evaluate test results, entering them into applicable documents.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment and assure calibration for tests.
  • Maintain inventory control of area equipment.
  • Coordinate NDT inspection workload based on priorities.
  • Provide technical assistance to subordinate level NDT technicians.
  • Perform automated ultrasonic C-scan inspection of composite parts.
  • Perform exposure room interlock safety checks and operate radiation survey meters.

Required skills

  • NDT Level II Certification in Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, or X-ray.
  • 4 years of NDT related experience.
  • Certified in two NAS 410 NDT methods; able to certify in a third within 1 year.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in computer-based software.
  • Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Good personal and communication skills.
