Overview

As a Senior Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications at scale. Your role involves designing, developing, and implementing ML applications while ensuring high availability and performance, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve real-world business problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models and components
  • Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams on ML infrastructure decisions
  • Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models
  • Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production
  • Leverage cloud-based architectures and technologies
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for ML models
  • Ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code
  • Govern models from a risk perspective and follow best practices in Responsible and Explainable AI

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions
  • At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Scala, or Java
  • At least 3 years of experience building and optimizing ML systems
  • At least 2 years of experience leading teams developing ML solutions
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • 3+ years of experience with data gathering and preparation for ML models
  • People management experience
