Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a critical role in developing responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. This position involves collaborating with a cross-functional team to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge AI technologies and applications that improve operational efficiency and customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and evaluation.
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies in the development of AI solutions.
  • Invent and introduce optimization techniques to improve performance of large-scale AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex AI concepts.
