Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will be pivotal in creating responsible AI systems that transform the banking experience. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered products while enhancing Capital One's capabilities in machine learning and AI engineering.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and large language model inference.
  • Leverage a variety of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques to enhance large-scale AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience developing complex AI systems and optimizing training and inference software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
