Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will play a critical role in creating responsible and reliable AI systems to enhance customer experiences in banking. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and develop AI-powered products, utilizing a range of advanced AI technologies to optimize large-scale production AI systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques for production systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • At least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
  • Ability to lead and mentor an engineering team
  • Expertise in complex AI systems and optimization techniques
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
