Overview

The Senior Lead AI Engineer, AI Foundations at Capital One will focus on creating responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance customer interactions and improve banking services. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and support AI-powered products, leveraging advanced technologies and optimizing large-scale AI systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for solution deployment
  • Invent and optimize large language model techniques for performance improvement
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience in AI/ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
