Overview

As a Senior Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be pivotal in developing responsible and reliable AI systems that significantly enhance customer interactions in banking. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy AI-driven solutions that leverage advanced machine learning technologies, positioning Capital One at the forefront of innovation in financial services.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, and support AI software components including model training and inference.
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS, Huggingface, and PyTorch.
  • Implement LLM optimization techniques for enhancing performance of production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of experience in AI and ML algorithm development.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics with expertise in system optimization.
