Overview

The Senior Distinguished AI Engineer (Agentic AI Platform) at Capital One will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver innovative AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and streamline associate workflows. This role is essential for developing and refining AI systems that maintain safety, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, including living diagrams and canonical APIs for agent orchestration and prompt libraries.
  • Standardize and automate agentic workflows to ensure widespread adoption.
  • Develop a GenAI SDK and CLI to facilitate secure and efficient engineering workflows.
  • Create central guardrail services to maintain trust and safety in AI applications.
  • Optimize orchestration for enhanced performance and cost efficiency.
  • Drive innovation through proof of concepts and strategic RFCs.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and represent Capital One at AI conferences.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI and 10+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with 8+ yea
  • 10+ years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • 9 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • 2+ years of experience with Agentic Frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen).
  • 2+ years of experience with LLMOps (Google Cloud Vertex AI, Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML).
  • Deep understanding of AI architecture and multi-tenant security.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
