Overview

The Senior Director of Applied Research at Capital One will lead the AI Foundations team in creating trustworthy AI systems to enhance customer experiences. This role involves collaborating with various cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products and conducting high-impact applied research to drive innovative solutions in banking.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered platforms and solutions.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Engage in high-impact applied research to advance customer experiences.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and more.
  • Translate complex research into tangible business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD or Master's in relevant fields with significant applied research experience.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Hands-on experience with developing AI foundation models.
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with large deep learning models and optimization techniques.
