Join Fox Construction as a Senior Construction Project Accountant. Fox Construction is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Senior Construction Project Accountant to manage the financial backbone of our high end residential and commercial construction projects. In this critical role, you will oversee pay applications, job costing, accounts payable, and project closeout documentation, ensuring financial accuracy from initial project kickoff all the way through final completion. We are Steamboat Springs longest standing general contractor, utilizing Sage 100 Contractor as our core platform. Key Responsibilities Pay Applications and Job Costing: Prepare, review, and process construction pay applications including final billings. Build and maintain electronic draw files, Excel based reconciliations, and meticulously track lien waivers prior to payment. Accounts Payable and Invoicing: Code, route, and enter all job related and overhead invoices into Sage 100 Contractor. Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for sales tax compliance and contract requirements. Reconcile accounts payable and company credit card statements. Financial Tracking and Forecasting: Assist Project Managers with project forecasting and precise cost tracking. Track subcontracts and maintain strict insurance certificate compliance. Project Closeout: Prepare and assemble comprehensive project closeout documentation including owners manuals, archiving all documentation in accordance with company standards. Project Administration: Maintain project contact lists, assist with subcontractor bid solicitation, organize bids on the company server, type three week project schedules, and manage project photos via CompanyCam and daily logs via Raken. What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications) Required Experience: 3 to 5 plus years of dedicated construction accounting experience is strictly required. Industry Knowledge: A strong, specialized understanding of construction pay applications, job costing, and lien waivers. Organizational Skills: High attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple projects, strict deadlines, and fast moving moving financial metrics simultaneously. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with a natural ability to collaborate seamlessly with project teams. Preferred Software Expertise: Hands on experience with Sage 100 Contractor is strongly preferred. Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Licensure: Active Colorado Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain one.
