Job Description

Overview

The Senior Benefits Manager at Reed Smith LLP is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of US employee benefit plans. This includes monitoring compliance with laws and regulations, collaborating with internal and external parties, and implementing strategies to attract and retain talented employees through competitive benefit offerings.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement employee benefits strategy and plan designs
  • Monitor and analyze employee benefit practices and benchmarking data
  • Manage annual benefit renewal process
  • Oversee health and welfare benefit programs including medical and retirement plans
  • Develop and deliver educational materials on benefit offerings
  • Conduct financial analysis and budgeting of employee benefits programs
  • Manage vendors and ensure statutory compliance of benefit programs
  • Supervise benefits staff and provide coaching and mentoring
  • Collaborate with non-US HR personnel on global benefit programs
  • Handle government reporting and audits of health and welfare and retirement plans

Required skills

  • 10+ years of employee benefits management experience
  • Strong leadership, management, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Experience with compliance regulations such as ACA, FMLA, and ERISA
  • Financial analysis and budgeting skills
  • CEBS certification highly preferred
  • Proficiency in using computers and digital collaboration tools
